Meet Roberto Ramos for Congress

A committed voice for California’s 27th district, focused on working families, accountability, and real local leadership.

Community First

I’m Roberto Ramos, a Marine Veteran, a UC Berkeley graduate, and at UCLA School of Law for the Master’s Program. I’ve spent my life in service...first to my country, then through education and public policy, because I believe leadership means responsibility, not entitlement.

Like many families in CA-27, mine has felt the pressure of rising costs, limited opportunity, and a political system that too often answers to donors instead of constituents. I’m running for Congress to bring a grounded, principled approach to Washington. One that respects democratic norms, values hard work, and puts people first.

This campaign isn’t about ambition. It’s about duty.

United States Marine Corps

I served in the Marines with a MOS in Military Intelligence, a role that required discipline, judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly. I was entrusted with a Top Secret security clearance, reflecting the level of trust placed in me to analyse information, protect national security, and operate with integrity under pressure. Working in intelligence reinforced the seriousness of decision-making and the real-world consequences that follow when leaders act recklessly or without accountability. That experience shaped my belief that power must be exercised carefully, lawfully, and always in service of the people...not personal ambition.

UC Berkeley

At UC Berkeley, I earned my degree in Political Science with two focused areas of study: American Politics and International Relations. Rather than double majoring, I chose to concentrate within a single discipline so I could deeply understand how domestic governance and global affairs intersect. My studies examined constitutional structure, elections, executive power, and democratic accountability, alongside U.S. foreign policy, international security, and diplomacy. This dual focus gave me a grounded understanding of how decisions made in Washington affect both everyday life at home and America’s role in the world—and why responsible leadership requires competence in both.

UCLA
School of Law

At UCLA School of Law, I'm earning a Master’s degree focused on Government and National Security Law, and will Graduate in a few months. This program strengthened my understanding of how law, executive power, and national security intersect. Where legal limits must be respected. My studies reinforced the principle that security and liberty are not opposing goals, and that strong leadership requires fidelity to the Constitution even under pressure.
